About this day tour

Kikuletwa, also called Chemka or Maji Moto, is a green oasis on the dry plains south of Moshi. The water stays pleasantly warm all year and is clear enough to see the small fish around you. Swim, try the rope swing, relax in the shade and be back in Moshi by late afternoon — a perfect rest day before or after a climb.

Good for: Families, rest days around a Kilimanjaro climb, and anyone with a free day in Moshi.

Highlights

  • Swim in warm, spring-fed turquoise pools
  • Rope swing and shallow spots for less confident swimmers
  • Picnic lunch in the shade of giant fig trees
  • Village and sisal-farm scenery on the drive
