Build a realistic Kilimanjaro-and-safari holiday with time for arrival, the mountain, rest and wildlife. Compare existing Bundi trips without squeezing transfers into trekking days.

Start with the climb, then allow breathing room

Choose your mountain itinerary first. Add an arrival day for your transfer, briefing and equipment check. After the descent, leave space to wash, repack and rest before a long safari drive. Your needs may differ, so agree the schedule with the team rather than treating a fixed rest period as medically sufficient.

What a two-week outline could look like

  • Day 1: arrive and transfer; confirm briefing and equipment arrangements.
  • Days 2–9: an eight-day Lemosho trek, following the confirmed mountain itinerary.
  • Day 10: a rest and repacking day, with plans adjusted to how you feel.
  • Days 11–13: a three-day safari, with parks confirmed before booking.
  • Day 14: departure arrangements, subject to flight times and transfer distances.

This is an illustrative 14-day outline, not a published combined tour. Arrival or hotel nights already included in a chosen itinerary must not be counted twice. A four- or five-day safari needs additional time, and onward Zanzibar travel adds flight and transfer time.

Choose your safari parks deliberately

The 3-day safari listing names Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro. The 4-day safari and 5-day safari list Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Confirm the actual route, overnight stops and drive times for your dates; these are not interchangeable trips.

Pack for two different experiences

Keep cold-weather trekking layers separate from lighter safari clothes. Ask whether a spare bag can be stored during your climb and confirm where it will be returned; do not assume storage is included. Use our mountain checklist and safari packing list together.

Budget and travel documents

Request an itemized combined quote covering hotel nights, transfers, mountain and safari services, park charges and any internal flights. Check your insurance explicitly covers the altitude of your planned climb as well as safari activities. Read our visa guide before committing to flights.

Send your total time in Tanzania, preferred trek, safari interests and flight plans when you ask Bundi’s Moshi team. We can help coordinate a schedule; no summit or wildlife sighting is guaranteed.
